city.

Utility bills are mailed out on
the last day of every month and are
due and payable by the 15th of the
month. If for any reason you do not
receive your utility bill by the 5th,
you are responsible for contacting
our office at 790-3351 before the
16th. A late charge of $10.00 will
be added on the 16th of each month
for any amount unpaid. The City of
Alvarado will cut off water services
on the 26th of the month for any account
not paid in full. A reconnection fee
of $25.00 will be charged between
the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm,
Monday through Friday, and $40.00
for after-hours, holidays or weekends.
After 5:00 pm, you may contact the
Police Dept. at 790-3345 to have your
water reconnected.
*** No reconnect will be done
between the hours of 10pm & 6am
Garbage
We have contracted with Allied
Waste Systems for all garbage collection.
Trash will be picked up each Friday
and billed on your water account
every month. Please have your garbage
on the curb by 7 am in either plastic
bags or cans. If you
want a dumpster or additional pick
up, you need to contact Allied
at 1-800-860-0123. If you have a
complaint, please contact Allied
first and then report it to the
city as well with the name of the
person you spoke to at Allied.
Included in your monthly garbage
bill, the landfill offers free dumping
to the citizens of Alvarado once
per quarter. Itasca Landfill
is located south of Alvarado off
of I-35. From I-35 at Hwy 67, travel
south and exit F.M. 66 (Exit #8), turn east and go two miles to first paved road on left.
The landfill is located on the right.
Hours of operation are Monday through
Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm; and
Saturday, 7:00 am to 12:00 am. For
additional information, you may
contact the landfill at 254-687-2511.

Payment Options
1. The office accepts cash, money order or personal check only.
2. Pay with credit card on-line at www.officialpayments.com. Choose Local payment. Enter jurisdiction code of 6581. Click on Payment Type and choose Utilities.
3. Pay with credit card by phone: 1-800-272-9829. Choose Option 3, "All Other Payments". Enter jurisdiction code 6581.
***Please be aware that making your payment by credit card, either on-line or by phone, will incur a convenience fee of $5.95. Furthermore, you will need to allow 24 hours for payment processing. For example: if you make your payment on Thursday, we will not receive confirmation of it until Friday.***
