The Boards and Commissions in the Alvarado city government are comprised of volunteer citizens. Volunteer citizens serve at the will of the City Council, and act as advisory to the Council in the administration of the City's Planning & Zoning, Zoning Board of Adjustments, Economic Development, Library, Senior Center, and Parks & Recreation.
In most small towns, it is often difficult to find willing volunteers necessary to field all the Boards & Commissions. If you are an Alvarado resident and would like to volunteer to serve on a Board or Commission, please complete an application and return either in-person or email to City Secretary's office. We will maintain a file of available and interested citizens willing to serve.
