Welcome to the internet home of the Alvarado Fire Department. The department was founded in 1903 as a volunteer organization and has evolved over the years into a combination professional emergency services organization.

We are committed to the protection of life and property by providing reliable, professional service of exceptional quality in fire prevention, firefighting and rescue, and emergency medical first response services. We are dedicated to constant improvement through innovation and education.

The quality of life in the City of Alvarado depends on a partnership between the citizens, business community, elected officials and City employees. We, as City employees, are committed to the following:

• Fire Suppression - Deliver state-of-the-art fire equipment and services through training.
• Fire Prevention - Improve the "Quality of Life" through fire prevention education, inspections, prosecution of arsonists, and construction plan review
• Fire Administration - Manage departmental activities and promote professionalism and education

The department provides these services to the citizens of Alvarado and to almost 48 square miles of Johnson County; averaging 125 emergency responses monthly.
